Meet Rob Ogle, VCA’s Director of Sales

We are excited to introduce you to Rob Ogle, VCA Software’s Director of Sales. Rob joined our organization last May and has quickly become an invaluable member of our team. Q: When did you join VCA and why did you feel that it was the right company for you?

A: I joined VCA in May of 2023. I was looking for a company that could utilize my insurance claims and software experience and VCA looked like a good fit. After speaking with John and Ilda, I knew this was a company that valued their employees and could provide me with an opportunity to grow my career.

Q: Tell us about your professional background.

A: For the first 11 years of my career, I worked in claims for a major insurer. I started as a property field adjuster and subsequently held many positions including Director of Property Vendor Programs. I then spent the next 12 years working for an insurtech that sold policy administration systems. In that role, I helped implement and support more than 80 customers.

Q: What is a typical day at VCA like? What do you enjoy most about this role?

A: A typical day includes researching our customer market, learning more about our software system, corresponding with potential customers and demonstrating the product. It’s hard to pick just one thing I enjoy most, but I think it’s finding a company that desperately needs an upgrade to their claims system and providing a solution that improves their processes. It’s wonderful to see customers experience greater efficiency after implementing the VCA platform.

Q: What has surprised you at VCA?

A: I was pleasantly surprised to discover VCA’s openness to feedback and change. Being the new person, you never want to suggest too many changes and sometimes a new employer can dismiss feedback. The VCA team has welcomed the feedback and their willingness to change to improve the customer journey has been wonderful. It shows how much they care about their clients and their employees.

Q: What are your goals for the future?

My primary goal is to help improve our product and process while finding as many companies that can benefit from our software as possible. I know that’s pretty vague, but I don’t want to give away too many surprises!

Q: Please share three things people don’t know about you.

#1: I’ve been married for 24 years to a woman I graduated high school with. We dated in the 5th grade, but it didn’t work out then. We had to wait until we graduated and moved hundreds of miles apart before we decided we were meant for each other. We have two sons, ages 20 and 18.

#2: When the pandemic hit, I needed to pick up a new hobby that I could do at home, so I started brewing beer. I found a local shop that sold everything needed and I jumped in. Since that time, I’ve brewed over 100 gallons of beer. Don’t worry, I didn’t drink it all – I had friends who helped!

#3: During college I spent three months in the Netherlands as an exchange student. It was the best college experience and I highly recommend it to any college student. I learned a lot as an exchange student, but unfortunately Dutch wasn’t one of them!
