FOR CAPTIVES AND SELF-INSUREDS
Claims Software for Captives and Self-Insureds
When your organization self-insures, or funds its losses through a captive, every claim is money you pay. VCA ClaimsCore is where your team works each claim, or watches the claims a TPA handles, with the reserves, payments and recoveries recorded on it.
Every property and casualty line. Not workers' compensation or health benefits.

ADD-ON: CLAIMSAI
ClaimsAI by VCA, Inside the Claim
ClaimsAI by VCA works inside one claim at a time, with four capabilities: Documents, Chat, Standing Checks and First Notice. It reads what is on the claim, summarizes what matters and drafts for review. It never sets a reserve, approves a payment or decides a claim.
ClaimsAI does not update anything in the claim. What it drafts reaches the claim only when a person copies it there. How ClaimsAI Works →

THE PROBLEM IT SOLVES
The loss fund is yours whoever works the claim. Leadership asks what a claim has cost, what is still reserved and what has come back, and the answer has to come from the claim, not from a report someone rebuilt.
HOW YOUR CLAIMS ARE HANDLED
Your Own Claims Desk, or a TPA's
A self-insured organization or captive either handles its claims in house or places them with a TPA. VCA serves both, and each firm with a role in a claim works it from its own VCA account.
You Handle the Claims
Your claims team works every claim in VCA ClaimsCore, with its reserves, payments and recoveries on it.
A TPA Handles the Claims
Your team's own seat on the claims a TPA handles, with the reserve history and the limits it works under.
You Run a Captive
The claims your captive funds, worked in house or overseen while a TPA handles them.

Questions Captives and Self-Insureds Ask
What is self-insurance management software?
Software a self-insured organization or captive uses to work the claims it pays: each claim's reserves, payments, recoveries and authority limits in one place, with reporting drawn from the same claims. On VCA it is VCA ClaimsCore, the claims platform, complete on its own.
Some of our claims are handled by a TPA. Does VCA cover those too?
Yes. Your team gets its own seat in its own VCA account. Your TPA can work those claims as a claims team inside your account, or keep its own system, and which claim data reaches your account is agreed with you and your TPA in discovery.
Does VCA work for captives as well as self-insured organizations?
Yes. Captives and self-insured organizations both run their claims on VCA ClaimsCore: each claim's reserves, payments and recoveries recorded on it, authority limits set for each user, and reports drawn from the same claims.
Does VCA support workers' compensation?
No. VCA supports every property and casualty line of business, but not workers' compensation or health benefits claims. Property, casualty, specialty and in-house program claims all run on VCA ClaimsCore. Where workers' compensation is one line among several, the rest of the book runs here and the workers' compensation claims stay wherever they run today.
Can we get our claims data into our own data warehouse?
Yes, with DataBridge, an add-on for organizations that run a data warehouse of their own. It delivers your VCA claims data there on a schedule you set, as often as hourly, with no connectors for your team to build.
How long does it take to move our claims desk onto VCA?
Every VCA implementation starts with discovery: VCA maps how your claims move, from where they come in to the reports leadership reads, before anything is configured. On a Standard License, configured to your workflows, VCA ClaimsCore is live in 3 to 4 weeks; an Enterprise License deployment takes 8 to 16 weeks.
