LINES OF BUSINESS

Every property and casualty line. Not workers' compensation or health benefits.

VCA ClaimsCore runs personal and commercial claims across casualty, property, auto, specialty, in-house programs, and subscription and individual-risk market business, each configured per line and per program.

THE PROBLEM IT SOLVES

VCA exists so that a claims operation does not have to become someone else's shape to get modern software. Every line you write gets a claim set up for that line.

THE MYTH

Is VCA a property claims system?

No. It handles property claims well, and that's how the myth starts. Its estimating and property-data integrations are the part people see first, so it gets filed as a property system whatever else it runs all day.

The workflow changes by line. The platform underneath stays the same: same reserves, same notes, same deadlines, the same reporting chain. Casualty work is as native to it as a roof claim, and Unity Claims Management, a multi-line independent adjusting firm, works claims for carriers nationwide on it.

EVERY CLAIM CARRIES THESE

  • Time Log

A PROPERTY CLAIM ADDS

  • Recovery

A CARGO CLAIM ADDS

  • Marine

One platform under every line. Each loss type is set up with its own tabs and fields, in your terminology, on top of the ones every claim shares.

IN THE FIELD

Three Books That Don't Fit a Standard Form

A bond line, an animal book and a set of delegated programs, each running on VCA. Two of them have a public story to read.

LINE BY LINE

How does each line run in VCA?

Each card names the claim work that line leans on hardest, and what ClaimsCore records for it.

Casualty and Liability

Casualty claims stay open while the facts develop, and reminders and calendar entries are generated automatically, so a quiet claim in year three still comes due.

  • Reserves Inside an Authority Schedule. Every reserve movement is recorded with who made it and which fund it came from, against authority limits set per client or per program.
  • Litigation Flagged and Searchable. Litigation and Defence flags mark the claims that need special handling, defense counsel sit on the claim as contacts, and payments to attorneys are recorded on it.

Property

Losses arrive by first notice, or straight from the policyholder through InsuredConnect, an add-on, and everything the property work produces lands on the claim.

  • Estimates and Property Data on the Claim. Assignments go out and completed estimates come back through XactAnalysis, field estimates come from Symbility, and property records, roof measurements and field documentation arrive from CoreLogic, Hover and Encircle.
  • Catastrophe Coded on the Claim. Each claim carries a Cat Code and Treaty Year in its loss details, a CAT claim team takes the surge, and assignment rules route by loss location and adjuster workload.

Auto

Personal and commercial auto run on volume, and volume rewards a path that is set up once and followed on every claim.

  • Assignment by Rule. Claims route automatically by loss location, adjuster workload or client, to the team or handler closest to the loss.
  • Recoveries Against the Reserve. Subrogation and salvage are tracked on the claim, from the recovery agent and key dates to funds received, each posted against the reserve it offsets, with a Subrogation Potential flag on the claims worth pursuing.

Specialty and Marine

Specialty business rarely fits a standard form, so each loss type gets the claim its risk needs, whether that is a bond, an animal or a cargo.

  • Tabs and Fields per Loss Type. Each loss type is set up with its own tabs and fields, in your terminology, from first notice.
  • Configured with Restraint. Each line gets what its work needs and no more, and changes later in a no-code admin console for fields, rules, workflows and templates.

Marine and Cargo Claims → Three Books in the Field →

In-House Programs

Each program keeps its own workflows and its own authority, so one program's conventions never bleed into another's.

  • Authority per Program. Authority limits are configured per program, and the platform tracks the authority protocols and reporting requirements attached to them.
  • Program Reporting From the Claims. ClaimsCore's company-wide reports and live dashboards read the claims the team is already working, and the VCA Insights add-on compares programs, carriers and offices.

Running programs as an MGA? →

Lloyd's Market

Subscription and individual-risk business runs on the same claim platform, built for the DCA and coverholder side of the market.

  • Lloyd's Parties on the Claim. The retail agent, coverholder, Lloyd's broker and managing agent are recorded as claim participants, and claims can be searched by UMR.
  • Bordereaux From the Claims. Set up the Unique Market Reference once and bordereaux populate per claim, so a managing agent gets oversight evidence in the form Principle 4 asks for.

HONEST SCOPE

What doesn't VCA do?

Workers' compensation and health benefits claims. VCA doesn't support either, and we'd rather say so here than let you find out in month three of an evaluation.

ClaimsCore is complete on its own, and every line on this page runs on it. It is built for claims operations that need to be live in weeks, beside the policy system they already run.

Everything VCA Doesn't Do

WHY SAY IT HERE

A vendor willing to put what it doesn't do on its own website is a vendor you can believe about what it does.

VCA goes deep in claims, so its scope ends where its depth does.

Questions About Lines of Business

Does VCA handle casualty claims?

Yes. VCA ClaimsCore handles casualty and liability claims as core lines, alongside every other property and casualty line; not workers' compensation or health benefits claims. The property-first reputation comes from its estimating and property-data integrations, which are the most visible part of the platform.

Why doesn't VCA support workers' compensation or health benefits?

Workers' compensation and health benefits claims are outside VCA's scope, so if either is your primary book, VCA isn't your platform. Every property and casualty line runs on VCA ClaimsCore.

Can we run multiple lines of business on one platform?

Yes. Every line runs on VCA ClaimsCore, configured per line and per program, and management sees the whole book in ClaimsCore's company-wide reports and live dashboards. VCA Insights, an add-on, compares programs, carriers and offices.

Our book is specialty. Does VCA handle surety, livestock, cargo, or inland marine claims?

Yes. Specialty lines are in scope. VCA ClaimsCore sets each loss type up with its own tabs and fields in your terminology, so a bond or an animal claim is never forced into a generic loss form.

Does VCA handle Lloyd's market claims?

Yes. VCA serves the DCA and coverholder side of the Lloyd's market, for both subscription and individual-risk business: delegated claims administration, adjuster workflow and bordereau production to London. The retail agent, coverholder, Lloyd's broker and managing agent are recorded as claim participants, and claims can be searched by UMR.

How long does it take to set up our lines?

Every implementation starts with discovery. VCA maps how your claims actually move (intake sources, assignment rules, authority levels and reporting obligations) before anything is configured, and VCA ClaimsCore is then configured to that process. Carriers plan on the Carrier License: 12 weeks to 6 months. An Enterprise License deployment runs 8 to 16 weeks, and on a Standard License, configured to your workflows, ClaimsCore goes live in 3 to 4 weeks.
