XactAnalysis, so the Work Comes Back to the Claim
Work leaves the building on almost every property loss. The trouble starts when the finished work returns to a mailbox instead of to the claim your team is working.
XactAnalysis, the assignment and reporting network, carries the assignment out of VCA ClaimsCore and brings the completed estimate back to the same claim, so the assignment never becomes a separate thing to track.
- Out: The Assignment, to XactAnalysis.
- Back: The Completed Estimate, onto the same claim.
- Without it: the same work goes to a mailbox nobody downstream can read, and nothing comes back.
IN THE CLAIM
The claim is still live while the work is out
Somebody is being asked when the estimate will land. Somebody else is deciding whether the reserve still looks right. The gap between sending work out and getting it back is where side lists grow, so the claim has to keep working through it.
THE ROUND TRIP, AND WHAT THE CLAIM DOES MEANWHILE
- Out of the ClaimThe assignment goes out through the network. Reminders and calendar entries stay on the claim, so the follow-up is not a sticky note.
- While It Is OutReserves stay open to change, with full history, and the status monitor shows the claim at the stage your team set.
- Back to the ClaimThe completed estimate returns to the claim it left, beside the notes and documents already on it.
- When It Is QuestionedThe record of who did what and when answers for the claim, including the weeks the work was out.
WHAT MOVES
Out, Then Back, with the Claim Attached
What the connection carries in each direction is scoped against your systems during implementation. The direction is fixed, and the direction is what decides whether anyone keeps a private list.
| What | Which Way | Where It Lands |
|---|---|---|
| The Assignment | Out of the claim | Routed through the network to whoever is doing the work, carrying the claim it came from. |
| The Completed Estimate | Back to the claim | On the claim it left, where the reserve and notes it affects already sit. |
| The Claim Record | Kept in VCA ClaimsCore | The claim of record: notes, reserves, correspondence and the history of who did what. |
WHO FEELS IT
Three Desks That Stop Keeping a Side List
Independent adjusting firms and TPAs feel this hardest during surge, when open assignments are exactly what nobody has time to track by hand.
- The Assignment CoordinatorSends work out of the claim and sees what is outstanding without a private list that only makes sense to the person who keeps it.
- The Desk ExaminerOpens the claim and finds the completed estimate on it, beside the reserve, without asking anyone to forward a copy.
- The Vendor ManagerReviews outstanding assignments from reports and custom queries on the claims, instead of a spreadsheet rebuilt by hand every month.
OFF THE DESK
The Second System Nobody Planned
Every operation that runs assignments in one place and claims in another builds a bridge out of people. Here are the jobs that bridge is doing.
- Opening a second platform to answer a question about a claim.
- Retyping estimate figures into the claim so the claim reads correctly.
- The status spreadsheet that exists because the assignment lives in one place and the claim in another.
- Working from an emailed copy while a newer version sits somewhere else.

THE BOUNDARY
Out and Back, Not Out and Gone
An estimate that lives in a mailbox is a copy. An estimate on the claim is the version your team is working from, and the difference shows up the first time a client asks what a claim is waiting on.
The network moves the work and the claim keeps the record, so neither is asked to do the other's job.
VCA was built from the claim up, by an adjuster, so finished work comes back to the claim, not to an inbox.

WHAT TO BRING TO THE CONNECTIVITY CONVERSATION
One real assignment: how it gets issued today, who touches it, and what everyone has to be told while it is outstanding. Walking it through settles what the connection has to carry.
Questions About XactAnalysis and Estimates
Does VCA ClaimsCore integrate with XactAnalysis?
Yes. XactAnalysis is one of the integrations VCA names publicly, in one role: the assignment and reporting network. The assignment goes out of the claim in VCA ClaimsCore and the completed estimate comes back to that claim. What the connection carries for your operation is scoped during implementation.
Is XactAnalysis where the estimate gets written?
No. XactAnalysis routes the assignment to whoever is doing the work and brings the completed estimate back. Where that estimate is written is a question about the field, not about this connection.
We also use Symbility. Do we have to pick one?
No. They do different jobs: XactAnalysis routes the assignment and returns the completed estimate, and Symbility covers the field estimate. Both are named integrations, which matters for firms whose carrier clients do not all use the same platform.
Who can see the claim while the work is out?
Each party, from its own seat. The coordinator and the desk examiner keep working the claim in VCA ClaimsCore, and a client with ClientPortal sees its own claims without a phone call or a status spreadsheet.
How is the connection set up?
It starts with discovery, like every VCA implementation. VCA maps how your claims move, including the handoffs to partners such as XactAnalysis, before anything is configured, and what the connection carries is settled there.
