SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — July 7, 2026 — VCA Software today announced that Western Financial Group and its subsidiary Western Coast Insurance Services (WCIS) have renewed their partnership with VCA for another five years, extending a relationship that first began in 2016 with WCIS and expanded to Western Financial Group’s broader claims operations in 2019. Western, one of Canada’s largest coast-to-coast insurance brokerages, uses VCA to support both its delegated claims authority programs and its growing claims advocacy services, so its teams can guide business clients more confidently through complex claims.
Western Financial Group provides multi-line insurance solutions to clients across Canada and is recognized as a trusted brokerage with over 180 locations and more than one million Canadians served. WCIS, a Western subsidiary, holds delegated claims authority for a number of large national programs, while Western’s claims advocacy team supports the broker network and their clients with guidance on complex claims and coverage questions. Both teams rely on VCA as a dedicated claims platform that can adapt to very different use cases under one roof, instead of forcing them into a one-size-fits-all process.
As Western and WCIS have grown their portfolio of large, multi-party programs, VCA has helped them manage higher claim complexity and self-insured structures without losing visibility or control.
“Our programs involve multiple stakeholders, significant self-insured components, and a high expectation for service,” said Shawna Fancy, VP National Insurance Operations at Western Financial Group. “VCA gives us a configurable platform that fits how our claims teams already work, while helping us keep complex delegated authority programs organized, transparent, and easier to manage as they grow.”
Western uses VCA to support programs that include significant self-insured retention components and shared risk pools, giving its teams a clearer way to track responsibilities, financial exposures, and outcomes across customized program structures. At the same time, Western’s claims advocacy group leverages the same platform to track issues, advice, and outcomes for brokerage clients, showing how a dedicated claims system can also support advisory-focused work—not just day-to-day adjusting.
“Western is a great example of how a large, coast-to-coast brokerage can use a dedicated claims platform to strengthen both delegated authority programs and claims advocacy for clients,” said John Varghese, CEO of VCA Software. “Their teams face complex claims and unique program structures, and VCA’s configurable platform has helped us support those needs in a way that fits how they already work, while giving them clearer insight into every file.”
The renewed agreement will also support Western and WCIS as they migrate from VCA’s legacy environment onto the modern VCA platform. With this upgrade, Western expects to further streamline workflows, enhance reporting, and make it easier to expand new claims advocacy and program opportunities as client needs evolve.
